Futurehood is a Greenwich Village community gathering, the first of which will occur on Saturday October 4th, 2008. The event will be held all day beginning with an all-day pig roast and brunch with live music at 11:00am in the school yard of PS 41, located on the corner of Charles St and Greenwich Ave. Futurehood will benefit PS 41's Greenroof Environmental Literacy Laboratory as well as other environmental and educational initiatives. Inspired by PS41 K-5th grade students' artistic depictions of the future, Futurehood will expand on the GELL initiative, focusing on the role of innovation in the future of education. We encourage local participation and strive to view education as a community effort. What are we, as leaders, entrepreneurs, and citizens, teaching our children outside of school throughout the community? Barbeque, pig roast by bobo restaurant, all day live music, fun and games will accompany conversations and presentations. We welcome imagination and ideas, and all levels of participation. Click here to see how you can be a part of Futurehood or visit our village community board for updates on the event and our conversation about the future. What will you do in twenty years? Imagine Greenwich Village 2028. The full press kit is here in PDF format.
